What ScamShield Does

ScamShield analyzes screenshots, text messages, and URLs to detect potential scams using AI. We are committed to protecting your privacy throughout this process.

Data We Collect

• Account: Email address (for authentication)
• Check results: Verdict, confidence score, and generic red flag categories only
• Usage: Number of checks performed per month

What We Do NOT Store

• Your screenshots or images (processed in memory only)
• Text you paste for analysis
• URLs you submit for checking
• Any personal information from your submitted content

Only the AI-generated verdict and generic red flag categories are saved. The original content is never persisted on our servers.

AI Processing

Your submitted content is transmitted to the Anthropic API (Claude) for analysis. Anthropic does not use API inputs for training. After analysis, all submitted content is discarded and only the verdict metadata is stored in our database.

PII Redaction

Before storing any AI output, we automatically redact email addresses, URLs, phone numbers, and other personally identifiable information that may have been included in the analysis response. Red flags are stored as generic category labels only.

Third-Party Services

• Anthropic (Claude API) - AI analysis (content transmitted, not stored)
• Clerk - Authentication (stores your email securely)
• Stripe - Payment processing (we do not store card numbers)
• RevenueCat - In-app purchase management (iOS)
• Cloudflare - Hosting and performance

What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell your data to anyone
• We do not serve ads
• We do not track you across other websites
• We do not store your submitted content

Delete Your Data

You can delete your account and all associated data directly from the Settings page. Alternatively, email support@scamshield.app and we will remove your account and associated data within 30 days.
